Battle on the Bayou, March 6, 2010
A 12-mile kayak and canoe race on Old Fort Bayou
Ocean Springs, MS
The first annual Battle on the Bayou Kayak and Canoe Race will be held on Saturday, March
6, 2010 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The race begins at Gulf Hills Hotel and ends at The
Shed/Camp Journey’s End.
This exciting new event is hosted by Gulf Coast Kayakaholics (local Paddling Club), South Coast Paddling Company, Gulf Hills Hotel, The Shed, Camp Journeys End, City of Ocean Springs, and Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce. All proceeds benefit the Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain, a conservation nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving open spaces and green places.
Schedule of Events
March 5th, Friday night, Pre-race party and extended pre-registration; 4:00 -7:00PM, Ft. Maurepas, Front Beach and Washington Ave, Ocean Springs.
March 6th, Saturday from 2:00 PM - until, The Shed
A celebration and fundraiser to support Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain and Old Fort Bayou.
